Happy Hour Classic Film Series at the Capitol Theatre

The Capitol Theatre is partnering with some of our restaurant friends from the neighborhood as we present a new Happy Hour Classic Film Series.

Each month the Capitol Theatre will present a classic film on the big screen in its historic main auditorium. Before the film enjoy a Happy Hour cocktail party starting at 6:00 PM. Your admission to the film includes a complimentary mini-cocktail or soft drink, light appetizers and live music in the lobby. After the reception enjoy the film starting at 7:00 PM. Happy Hour drink specials with $1 off beer, wine and cocktails are available until 8:00 PM.

Tickets are $10. Cocktail party begins at 6:00 PM. Film starts at 7:00 PM.

Shaker Square Film and Flavor Series

Movies traditionally only engage the senses of sight and sound. Now Shaker Square Cinemas (13116 Shaker Square, Cleveland) and Fire Food and Drink (13220 Shaker Square, Cleveland) are partnering to bring an additional sense to the cinematic table as audiences will get to “taste” the movies too.


Attendees of the SHAKER SQUARE FILM AND FLAVOR SERIES will see a classic movie on the big screen at the historic Shaker Square Cinemas preceded by an incredible meal, inspired by film’s location, at Fire Food and Drink.


The next film in the series will be Orson Welles’ classic thriller, TOUCH OF EVIL, on Monday, September 19th. 


Patrons will dine on a three course Tex-Mex inspired meal at Fire Food and Drink starting at 6:00 PM 


Note: a vegan dinner option will be available with advance request


Following dinner, TOUCH OF EVIL will be screened at 7:30 PM at Shaker Square Cinemas. Patrons who attend the dinner will receive VIP seating at the showing.


Tickets for the dinner and movie package are $36 (+tax and gratuity) and require advance reservations. Reservations for the dinner and movie must be made in advance at firefoodanddrink.com

A limited number of tickets to see the film only will be available at the Shaker Square Cinemas box office for $6. No online ticket sales for film only tickets.


Capitol Selects Series at the Capitol Theatre

The CAPITOL SELECTS will feature limited engagements, ensuring that there will be consistent programming of interesting and exclusive films playing at the Capitol Theatre. With a mix of documentaries, foreign films and classic movies the CAPITOL SELECTS will be a destination for Cleveland cinephiles.

Cleveland Museum of Natural History Reel Science Film Series

Cleveland Cinemas and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History have partnered on an exciting new series of films called Reel Science. Featuring an eclectic and diverse line-up of classic and contemporary films, Reel Science will explore the facts and fictions in each film with an introduction and post-screening discussion hosted by one of the experts from CMNH. General admission to each film is $7.50. CMNH and Marquee Rewards members can purchase a discounted admission at the box office for just $5. A portion of each admission benefits the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Cleveland Heights Music Hop - September 24th

This Saturday, 9/24, the 4th annual Heights Music Hop is happening in the Cedar Lee district.  A signature event for our community, many residents, customers, visitors & fans will head to Lee Road to enjoy a diverse roster of local music at various destinations, while enjoying our dining & nightlife scene.


This year, additional performances will be featured at the MotorCars Stage in the secured level of the parking deck. Keeping safety as a priority, the southernmost ingress/egress of Lot #5 ( driveway closest to Tullamore Rd.) and Tullamore Road will be temporarily closed to VEHICLE TRAFFIC from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.  Vehicle traffic will be required to use the two access drives off of Cedar Road for entering and exiting Lot #5 or the parking deck.  Tullamore will REMAIN OPEN to all pedestrians during the evening. CHPD will be present to assist in the safe navigation across Lee, as there are 22 performance venues that evening.



Free parking will be available in City lots & the parking deck. Parking along Lee, at the bagged meters within the construction zone, remains restricted, as do spaces marked “Permit Only”. Valet will still be available that evening, with locations at Dewey’s Pizza and Anatolia Cafe.

$1 Family Films at the Cedar Lee Theatre

The Cedar Lee Theatre is best known for showing the finest films that appeal to an adult audience but starting September 24th, the theatre will launch its new monthly $1 Family Film Series to encourage patrons of all ages to experience some big screen cinematic magic.

Fall Doc Series at the Capitol Theatre

The Capitol Theatre presents its annual Fall Doc Series with an incredible line-up of films meant to entertain, educate and challenge viewers.


Regular admission rates apply. Bring in your ticket stub from any film in the Fall Doc Series when you come to see another film in the series to save $3 off the regular adult admission rate.

Art House Theater Day - September 24th

The Art House Convergence, an international consortium of independent, community-based, mission-driven movie theaters, is pleased to announce the first Art House Theater Day, taking place on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Over 160 theaters will participate in this nationwide celebration of the cultural and community growth that art house theaters promote.


Both the Cedar Lee Theatre and the Capitol Theatre will be participating in Art House Theatre Day. In addition to our regular program each location will feature some special titles on this date.

Patrons visiting the Cedar Lee Theatre or the Capitol Theatre on September 24th will have a chance to enter a special drawing to win a Cleveland Cinemas season pass. This pass will be valid for the winner and a guest to attend unlimited films for one year at any Cleveland Cinemas location. 



Valet parking at Cedar Lee Theatre

Starting Friday, Decmber 18th valet parking will be available at the Cedar Lee Theatre on Fridays and Satudays from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Valet parking is $5 but if you present your valet ticket at the concession stand you'll receive $3 off your concession purchase (not valid for alcohol).


Valet drop off station is now located in the parking lot next to the Cedar Lee Parking Garage.

Cleveland Cinemas has a strict policy in regards to cell phone or tablet usage in our theatres. Anyone using a cell phone, tablet or other electronic device during the presentation may be asked to leave without a refund.
